Club History:
The Campbell River Killer Whales Swim Club (CRKW) is a non-profit
organization headed by a professional coach staff and run by a volunteer
parent group. It is supported through membership fees and
fundraising.
The CRKW swim club has been in operation since 1979 and was incorporated
in 1986. CRKW is an age group swim club and operates from
September to June of each year.
Since 1974, many swimmers have had the opportunity to improve their
swimming skills as well as participate in regional, provincial and
national competitions.
CRKW has produced many successful national level swimmers, the most
recent two being John Stamhuis and Alec Page. John and Alec have
been very positive role models for the other swimmers in the club as
well as great ambassador’s for CRKW. Alec Page made the Canadian
Games team this year and we look forward to watching his successes in
the years to come.
Who We Are??
Our club membership has traditionally included swimmers from ages 6 and
up who live primarily in the Campbell River area. These are athletes,
both beginner and experienced challenge themselves to be the best they
can be, in a team supported environment.
Where We Train??
Our swim club trains out the Strathcona Gardens Recreation Complex which
is located at 222 South Dogwood Street, Campbell River. There is a 6
lane, 25 meter pool and a fully equipped weight room facility.
